Last Friday, the ribbon was cut opening the doors of the brand new Bronx Design & Construction Academy on the site of the old Alfred E. Smith High School. Industry partner and CTE Council Member Jeffrey Smalls led the industry and community effort to create the new Linked Learning school and appeared in this video describing the school:

In Linked Learning, "students follow industry-themed pathways, choosing among fields such as electric, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and pre-engineering/ architectural drafting. Participation in Linked Learning prepares students to graduate from high school and succeed in a full range of postsecondary options—including two- or four-year colleges, certification programs, apprenticeships, military service, or formal job training."
